There are some things that people try to find out the sex of the baby before an ultrasound or even after. You can take a wedding ring and hang it from a thread. The pregnant mom should lie down on a bed or couch while someone holds the thread with the ring hanging from it directly over the stomach. The ring should either go back and forth in a line, or go around in circles. The back and forth should indicate a boy and a circular motion should indicate a girl. However, you may find different sources that say the opposite. Either way, this is a lot of fun, but is not always right.

You can also use the Chinese gender chart to find out the sex of the baby. This goes by the mother’s age at the time of conception. It will show either boy or girl. This has been accurate for not only me, but some of my friends as well. However, don’t go out and buy a ton of blue if you see you should have a boy. There is no proof this is 100% accurate. Others like to go by the heart rate of the baby. Some believe that the heart rate of 140 or more means a girl, and anything below 140 is a boy. I had a boy and his was a bit higher than 140 so that one did not work for me.

There is a test on the market today that is supposed to give parents an idea with a urine test that mom can do at home. Reviews of this are mixed, but most understand that it is not a 100 percent reliable and should be used for entertainment purposes only.
