Ever Wondered How Wind Turbines Work?

We’ve been using it for hundreds of years and whilst the design and science behind them may have changed significantly the same basic principle remains the same, but how do wind turbines work?

Well, it’s actually quite straight forward, the wind blows the sails or blades around which turns a series of rotors inside the head of the turbine which then rotate fast enough to generate power.

Wind energy is clean, very cheap to create, but it’s one main downside is the lack of consistency.

The reason why wind hasn’t been used on a large scale before is due to the high cost of the wind turbines, the lack of reliability of the wind and a false dependance on what we perceived as a never ending supply of oil and gas.

These days we are becoming increasing concerned about the potential future shortages of these valuable resources and so more is being done by governments to encourage individuals and companies to use alternative forms of generating power such as wind energy.

As the weather warms up, it’s a great time to take advantage of Mother Nature’s free energy and save money with a wooden clothes drying rack. That’s right, something as simple as a wooden clothes drying rack, when used regularly over time, can save a substantial amount of money, not only in energy costs but in clothing costs as well.

It is common sense that by using a clothes drying rack instead of an electric or gas dryer, you will be using less energy. Use less energy and your utility bill goes down. But what you may not be aware of is that conventional dryers can damage you favorite clothes. The forced heat created by a gas or electric dryer can cause certain fabrics, especially natural fibers like cotton, to become more brittle and break down over time. Why not avoid damaging your favorite clothes, and simply air dry them for free?
