Stress Management

Panic attacks have many causes including fear of heights, enclosed spaces, speaking in public, driving, and many more. Identify the trigger that makes you get so anxious and you are half way to being able to stop panic attacks.

Sit somewhere quiet, close your eyes and visualise yourself in that situation. What are you feeling? Is it fear of losing control? Fear of dying from a heart attack? Fear of showing yourself up in public? Replace those negative feelings with positive thoughts. Tell yourself that you won’t lose control, you are safe and that your symptoms can’t harm you. Accept your fears as being perfectly normal.

Positive thought is very powerful and can stop panic attacks. It can take time and patience though to replace old negative thoughts with positive ones. The subconscious doesn’t know what is real and what isn’t and will accept anything you feed into it, so by visualising yourself in the situation that causes you to panic and seeing yourself as positive and happy can have a dramatic effect on your response to it in the future and stop panic attacks. This isn’t a quick fix solution though, and you will need to be patient with yourself.

You can buy meditation cds to help you focus your mind and relax. These can be easily downloaded from the internet. Developing a positive mindset will not only stop panic attacks but also help you to develop more confidence in yourself.

If it gets bad enough, social stress can have a detrimental impact on many areas of your life. So bad that it can make you cancel your reservation at that hotel in Mauritius.

If you frequently experience symptoms of social stress, you should first of all admit it and look into some possible solutions. In this article, we will examine a few things that can be done to monitor the social stress in your life. Do not forget that you can cure this condition. So, it does not have to overpower your lifestyle.

Social anxiety is a very common problem in our modern world, forcing many people to seek treatment and to learn how to socially adapt. This means you shouldn’t be resigned to the idea that you have to live with this problem, no matter how long you may have had it. Many people, especially those who may have been suffering from serious social stress since childhood, learn to base their lives around this issue, sometimes to the extent that they don’t even leave the house any more than they have to. Rather than fitting your life to accommodate your social anxiety, why not decide right now that you’re going to find a solution, or at least ways to control this problem so you can live life on your own terms? You might want to think about hypnotherapy for social anxiety. Even though it is still deemed to be controversial in nature, hypnosis has been utilized to successfully treat many psychological ailments. Under hypnosis, you can relax and reprogram some of the thoughts and beliefs that may be causing your social anxiety. A professional hypnotherapist knows that changing the way that you react in particular settings is positive. Hypnosis is done very quickly in comparison to psychotherapy. Hypnosis is worth a try if you are willing to do it. So it might be a good move on your part to check out the therapists in your area.

A very common solution to dealing with stress is breathing and relaxation exercises on a regular basis. The way you breathe actually has a lot to do with your emotional state. When you feel anxious or fearful, you tend to breathe in a shallow way. A lack of self-confidence can be created within a person if they choose to breathe in a rapid way. Deep relaxation techniques can help you achieve a very relaxed and confident state, especially if you use an audio book. Nervousness and states of fear can gradually diminish over time using ancient practices such as breath work or yoga. If you go onto the Internet, you will more than likely be able to find some CDs that you can purchase to help you relax and breathe. Breathing deeply in a crowded room can give you added confidence and security. Social stress can be hard to deal with. But, when you decide to handle it, you will see that there are good cures for it. These strategies are just a few ways to reduce and manage it. Remember that the average person is only paying attention to themselves and not to the things that you think you are lacking. So does going for a cosmetic surgery cause you untold stress? Choose to look on the positive side of it

If you are looking for natural ways to cope with stress and anxiety, there are several herbs and tinctures that have been proven to work really well. You might want to try some of them out.

One that is not often mentioned is an ayurvedic herb called Ashwaghanda. It is a very good tonic herb that is especially helpful for debility and nervous exhaustion due to stress.

It has steriodal, adaptogenic, sedative and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also useful for panic attacks and phobic disorders such as agoraphobia.

Another is Valerian. This root has been used since Greek and Roman times to promote sleep and relaxation. It can treat insomnia, anxiety, and stress related gastrointestinal upset.

According to one theory, valerian affects the brain in a way similar to valium; while another theory holds that valerian contains GABA, a neurotransmitter which has a calming affect on the brain, or else influences the brain’s natural production of GABA.

Some researchers believe that valerian affects serotonin levels in a manner similar to antidepressant drugs such as Prozac.

Herbs often provide a natural relief from anxiety, stress and depression.
